Scout is an observational assessment tool that helps teachers document student learning within a dedicated dashboard. They can access assessments, record observations, make notes, and upload photos and videos. Teachers could also easily change student personal data, stay organized while they capture students’ learning progress, and rely on reports generated from their ongoing observational assessments.
As the design manager working on the original app, I was able to lead my designer while working with UX, development and Instructional design partners to design the UI, and create the most thoughtful user experience for our teachers. We also worked on the branding to established the program logo, and app icons that were used acrosss marketing and program materials. Now, there is a newer, web-based app in the market.
