As the creative lead for a cultural organization dedicating our spare time to bringing artists and musicians together for live events, I had an open canvas to design two years' worth of monthly promotional posters each with different styles to complement various genres. These posters allowed me to express myself freely, have fun, and lure people to come and enjoy these eclectic events in the city of Chicago. I enjoyed exploring layouts with typography, and the use of colour. All elements were always purposeful and well thought out, and the images really spoke to the vibe of the event and the artists that were performing. Working on this as a freelancer gave me the opportunity to be expressive without constraints, which is a contrast to my more serious subjects in my day-to-day design work.
